“But have you heard this one before?”

— sleepy jean @ 4:19 pm

Stamen & Pistils have another show coming up this week, this time in Virginia at the Galaxy Hut. They will be sharing the stage with Portions Toll, the four-limbed pursuit of John M (Metropolitan) and Marc M (Plums). Employing a variety of instruments and a wealth of stimulants, Portions Toll play semi-improvised noise-folk-rock. They are enamored of the work of Devendra Banhart, Animal Collective, American Analog Set, Tower Recordings, Joanna Newsom, and Vincent Gallo, though they cannot be held legally responsible for their inability to sound like any of those. S&P bring you their gritty love songs.

In related news, Stamen & Pistils have been in the studio this week with Derek Morton (of the Mikroknytes), mixing their forthcoming ep, "The End of the Sweet Parade." Look for a late spring release date.

Feller Quentin has some shows lined up for February, check back soon for updates regarding location. February also means that you’ll be able to preorder his long-awaited album, "I Am Not A Monster".

New releases lined up this spring as well from our friends at Doubling Cube and Candlewax Records, and we’ll be carrying those titles in our shop as well! Much to be excited about.
