Reviews

This week, Splendid Magazine had some kind words to say about the Stamen & Pistils record. Calling End of the Sweet Parade a “wispy, hotwired collection of nouveau-folk bedroom pop that wavers between shambolic Mangum-like rancor and gorgeous laptop-abetted mellifluousness.” Additional reviews in Treble liken the band to the Animal Collective remixed or a quirkier Hood, and Exclaim! stating S&P are a band that “more adventurous Stars fans may want to keep an ear out for”

Mixtape Returns!

— sleepy jean @ 3:48 pm

A long standing feature of the Echelon Productions website, the Pause Tape Mix, disappeared last year when we redisigned the site. We were all really into the idea of it, but for some reason never got around to getting it back up. Finally, it has returned. The previous 11 volumes, plus the latest installment, compiled by Horton. Volume 12, entitled “Hortie Poo Cocktail”. Check out the side bar at left for the link to the archived mixes.

New reviews for Stamen & Pistils in Stylus Magazine, Slug Magazine and Say Rah. Say Rah features an S&P track on their mixtape this month. Also, don’t forget about the show this week in DC on Thursday July 14th!, with Caution Curves, Justin Clifford Rhody and Lese Majesty at American University. Come celebrate bastille day with us!
