Outputmessage and I have been remixing a few tunes, here and there. He found this track and a remix contest to go with it, so we said, why not. The original is way more poppy than our version. But what we found interesting was that if we mixed it in a minor key, the lyrics (”I know your name, and i’ve got your number”) make her sound more like a stalker. So if you don’t know by now, Marquis–the monthly Echelon DJ/dance party hosted by Triobelisk, Outputmessage and me, Micah Vellian (Person/S&P/Metropolitan)–has been picking up some steam. We’re working on a number of remixes and hope to release a single by the summer. Our latest piece is a remix of the new Justin Timberlake & Madonna tune, “4 Minutes.” Our friend Dave Nada has been spinning the track out and he says it’s been killing on the dance floor.
